2008 RX400H - 176,000 mi and still going strong
Our 2008 RX400H has 176,000 miles on it and is still going strong. Have done all maintenance at the Lexus dealer over the years (timing belt, water pump, one faulty headlight replaced by Lexus at no cost). Most reliable car we have ever driven. The only reason I might consider another Lexus; reliability of their vehicles. The latest RX design is somewhat ghastly to our eyes; not sure if we can stomach the appearance of a 2018 model but I certainly cannot complain about my experience with this Lexus!

Going strong
My 08 rx400h just turned 213K.
The only issues i fixed were replacing front struts at 204K and added antifreeze because my heater wasn’t working properly. Replaced rotors and break pads at 113K. Going through 3rd set of tires. Other than that the car is awesomely excellent!

MY 2007 RX400H 105K
timing belt at 75k , 2 two sets of tires, replaced 12v twice, So far hybrid battery running strong!
Wondering when to change out struts?
Need to change trans fluid this month. Wonder if I will feel a change in driving?

I have a 2007 and it has 129,000 .. runs like new. Bought it 6 years ago. It had 83k on it. No problems at all since I bought it. Actually bought a regular battery for it about a month ago as it wouldn't start if I didn't drive it for several days.

Just past 170k mi, fixed small trans leak and changed oil. Total maint cost so far this year $500. It's a beater car and drives like it...smooth, plush ride when the roads are good, loud suspension and lots of lateral movement over rough surfaces. Pretty crappy mpg (<22) in stop-and-go city driving, close to 30 on highway. Does not feel solid like the German cars that's for sure, but has a big cargo area and sits higher than most crossovers. It's a nice appliance.
In short, I like it.

Interesting - I've driven plenty of new/used BMWs, Mercs, etc. and I think the RX feels just as solid. Now if you're trying to compare the characteristics of driving an SUV vs a small sedan then of course, the RX will feel more floaty on the road and less planted, but I've never once shut the door to my RX and thought "wow I wish it had a heavier thunk like a BMW 5-series".

Back on topic, just rolled over 162k on my RXh. Monitoring a very slow coolant leak from my radiator and deciding how soon I want to replace the radiator.

I bought a 2007 400h about 4.5 years ago from its original owner, who gave me all its service records. It had about 92K miles.
Today it has 157K miles. I used full synthetic oil from the start and had it changed every 5000 miles (which I realize is conservative and probably not necessary). The only "repair" work it has needed has been routine maintenance. When it got to 150K, I had the brakes overhauled, replaced the tires, and had every other notable part and system checked. It passed with flying colors. And it still looks pretty good too!
Last week, my wife and I gave the 400h to our oldest son for his birthday. It's his first car. He graduated from college last year, has a good job, and is living in a townhouse with friends. We both feel he earned it, and are completely confident it will serve him reliably and will be fun to drive for quite a few years to come.

Ah, so you're comparing a 10+ year old Lexus to a likely new (or near new) ML rental? I bet you'd be surprised to know that a brand new Corvette handles a lot better and feels much more powerful than a 10+ year old one, too.
