Default air conditioning

Hey everyone im very new to lexus and especially the hybrid technology so apologies if this question has already been asked... Is the heater for 06' rx 400h shut off everytime the engine shuts off and vise versa? Cause i notice it would just blow cold air for a period of time then as soon as the engine kicked in hot air again... Please tell me if this is normal any help is Apreciated

The heat should work when the engine is not running. There is an electric pump that should keep hot coolant flowing to the heater core. Perhaps yours is not pumping.

I had thought that too.. No way they would design the hydrid with a huge flaw like that.. Thank you so much ill get it checked out asap!!!
