brake controller, tent trailer towing
First, let me thanks all the contributors to this forum. As a new owner of a 450h, I have found invaluable information reading this forum.
My question concerns towing a tent trailer equipped with electrical brake. First, I need to install a 7-way connector, a round plug. I did not see any post on this forum how to do it. Has anyone did it? I know we have to connect to the battery which might be a little difficult.
Second, I was told that I will need a brake controller to control the amount of power applied to the trailer brakes. I am wondering if I need to pay special care to this equipment since the 450h is an hybrid. A local shop here proposes to install the Tekonsha 90155 Primus Brake Control.
Does anyone have experiences with brake controller on a 450h?
I have a 450h 2010. The tent trailer weighs 2100 lbs empty.
Thanks for your advices.

In case you're still looking for an answer. RX450h will be easier to wire, as the battery is actually in the back. Most of the wiring needed will actually be already located in a plug behind right tail light (pop the trailer fuse in under the hood if one is not there). It's the reverse wire that will need to be tapped-in. I would think needing a brake controller would depend on the trailer you have, not on the vehicle. I towed a boat with a truck and that thing was well over 3,000 lbs. The trailer just had mechanical brakes. A large U-haul trailer I towed had hydraulic brakes, but again did not need a brake controller.
