Default Es300h 2013

Purchased a new es300h madador red with premium package. Traded in a 2011 hs250h . The new es300h has some omitted feature that used to be in my hs250h. The cd player is now a single disc, plus a dvd player that can only be used when parked with the emergency brake on. The voice command to pause the nav. Is no longer available. Also the route detailed preview of the 3 routes is also no longer available.it seems to me that lexus has taken a step backward with some things. It maybe that they are pushing their lexus e forum??
The car is better than the hs250h, but the mileage is not nearly as stated i have
never came close to 40 mph. The best in eco mode or normal is 34 mph. Does
any one else have the same problems ??

The single CD player is a let down, but I tend to stream music via bluetooth from my phone these days. It always sucks to discover after the fact something you used to have is no longer on your new car.

If you got 35 MPG on your HS250h, you will most certainly beat it on the ES300h.

What was your motivation for trading in the HS250h so soon? Did you have the HS250h with the tech package, LKA and forward looking camera?

Congratulations on the new Lexus and welcome to Club Lexus.

That is interesting about the CD Player rather than a 6 Disk CD Changer. I have been looking at a lot of ES350's and all show the CD Changer as a standard item even though the sales people often think only the CD Player is available. I am now assuming that for whatever reason the ES300H offers only the CD Player. Hopefully somone with a new ES350 can confirm that it does in fact have a Changer. And why wouldn't the 300h have the changer - maybe a pound or two saved?

I see no mention of a changer here:

I know but it has been shown on all of the window stickers I have seen - and that may be as many as 20 - but I don't know that I have noticed on 300h's because they haven't been what I was looking at.

I have even driven 3 including a 300h and thought they all looked the same but of course didn't look any farther for a changer.

No CD changer, but you can put all your music in MP3 form and put it on a usb stick and plug in in center console. Anyway, thats what I did. Dont even use the cd player. Or stream it from your phone.

It's pretty easy to "rip" CD's and copy them to a thumb drive using Windows Media Player. I have serveral thumb drives that contain multiple CD's - makes it a heck of lot easier when using the USB feature as opposed to the single CD player.

Pandora app is my absolute favorite thing built into this car. I either use it or other burnt music, havent used a CD's in years. Oh yeah, iheartradio app is also really cool.

Great suggestion, I never thought about using a USB flash drive, I will have to try it when my '13 ES300h comes in.

Default ES3000h Gas Mileage

My wife's ES300h has got gas mileage between 33-34 also, which is really strange, as previous posting has stated. On the other hand, people have reported 40mpg in another thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...13-es300h.html

Any idea? I have already asked my sales person to research this and will post any new finding.

Very true, but there is a compromise: sound quality. Depending on the kind of music, the actual CD will sound a lot better.

I as looking to trade a 2011 RX350 for an ES300h but I would lose so much money on the trade, it doesn't make sense. Trading one hybrid for another, you don't gain much in mileage, or was it a "just had to have moment?"

With the HS250 not being imported anymore, the value will drop fast.Might have been a better move trading it in now.
Add in the ES300h is a so much better car than a HS in every way.

I only got 32 mph on my hs250h in real mileage not with the on board computer that always said about 2mph more. But the main reason was the unlike lexus ride on the 18 inch
wheels, also the lackluster power over my lexus 2009. At least the es300h has some get up and go.
