Default Help with a Rim/Tire issue

Afternoon, I am new to the forums and feel at home now since I joined.
I currently have the opt, lexus 18 inch Rims. With Michellin 235/55r18 99v m+s (440 tread, traction "a" temp "a")

I am in the market of purchasing a newer tires, found some nice contientinal extreme contact dsw that I like from tire rack. With all being around $1000 to install (4) and one new TMPS.

Me and wife had another idea as well with maybe purchasing Rims and Tires off craigslist, So this brings me to my question,
I have found a set of 20 inch Rims I like,
Brand Rims are Massiv 909 Illusion (all blacked out) 20 x 8.5. same bolt pattern
With/ WINRUN KF770 Tires 245/35zr20 95w XL m+s (420 Tread, Traction "a", temp "a")

I can buy the new rim and tires for $600 of craiglist.

Will these rims/tires work for my vehicle (2007 Lexus rx400h AWD)?
Has anyone ever heard of the those tires? Are they good?
Is it worth the purchase?

Thank you for any information you can provide, I have also tried to do google search as well as search the threads, I find this type of information is hard to come by. I do know the recommend tire at a 20 inch is a 245/45.

Once again thank you.

The diameter of the factory 18" with the factory 235/55/18 is 28.2 inches.

The diameter of those 20" with a brand of tires that are made in China, is 26.8 inches.

I would say no, as the diameter is too far off from the factory.

When it comes to tires - all that's keeping your vehicle on the road is four pieces of rubber with a hand sized contact patch. Your life (and your wife/kids/relatives lives) and the lives of other drivers on the road are very dependant on those four tires. This is why I have winter tires on dedicated rims as well.

Would I use off brand/no name brand/unknown brand tires on my vehicle to save some money. No, but that's just me.

Thanks for the reply, yeah I was a little sketchy about the tires myself. One of the reasons I found myself asking on this forum. I was at a loss for answers.

The Extreme Contact DWS is one of the newer 'all weather' (as opposed to all season) tires that actually do moderately well in light snow conditions. If I didn't have dedicated winter tires, I'd probably be looking at an all weather tire.

Welcome to Club Lexus, cdown007.

Personally, would never buy a Chinese tire. Chinese company or even just made there for someone else. Not seen anything that would make me feel comfortable with those on any of my vehicles other than for just show.

Keep in mind that the tires are also a key component of the suspension for your RX. Dropping down that far on the tire profile is bound to create a very harsh riding vehicle. Not sure how the roads are in your part of NY, however, if they are anything like PA you will want to keep that in mind.

Over in the general 2nd Generation forum there has been plenty of talk about tires. Take a moment to so some searching and reading on some of the recent threads. There has been favorable talk regarding the Pirelli Scorpion Verde, Goodyear Comfortred Touring and Bridgestone Dueler 422 Ecopia tires.

The Yokohama Parada Spec-X are great tires for the RX400h with great reviews. I got them from Tire Rack.
