next posted these pics from carview - as you can see, they also tested hybrid, just didnt report it - check the shifter and then hybrid power distribution graphics that is on main screen (looks nice too)

 

Looks like a mix between IS and ES. Interior reminds me of BMW's 7 series. Rear end is horrible. I don't like it.

 

The Hybrids will have a Shifter Gate with metal shaft under the ****..

While the none Hybrid GS's will have a Leather Boot under the Shift ****.

I noticed this in the pics from 3 weeks ago, when European online magizines tested out the two versions...

Lexus didnt design the leather boot nor the leather shifter too well. Its way too bulky and not dainty enough. It looks like a baseball. Looks like we're back to the old 1990s with the 1gen RX

that bamboo wood is nice, eh? I like new wood options a lot... plus that grained aluminimum looks nice too from the event pics.

 

Yeah, I agree (fyi bamboo is a very prominent feature in Japanese as well as in Asian culture in general)

Though for me, I would go for something sporty. As I told you over at carspyshots.net , my choice of interior revolve around two colors:
-black
-silver/grey

 

That's real bamboo ? They do use it for floorboards and other stuff, and they are stronger than wood, but I think that's wood and not real bamboo ......

why does the center console have to be so WIDE? guys with long legs (like me) (unless leg room is HUGE) end up having to lean right knee against that center console. if it's wide and encroaches on leg space a lot it isn't comfortable. this was the problem i had with my first gen RX.

also on that interior - it's getting really busy with saddle colored leather, bamboo, aluminum, grays, etc.

i still don't get the GIANT surround on the CD slot - it's way too much, esp. when CDs are on their way out. that will not 'age' well (like the old cassette decks ).

I believe bamboo is weaker, not strong, than other wood. Its a soft wood and dents easily. That is why when it is used as flooring, people have to be careful and choose it more for its ecological reasons than for durability

 

Actually, bamboo is stronger than most hardwoods and steel, its strength is often compared to maple wood, one of the strongest hardwoods available, it is also flexible and lightweight ......

i personally am not sure about bemboo interior. i guess i will have to see that in the gsf (if it's available) to see how i like it. i don't like too light of an interior

 

thats what they advertise, but in reality, you have to be very careful with bamboo.

i like how it looks, because it looks like real wood.
