Default Taller wheels than oem

Im planning on replacing my current 18" in. oem wheels with 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear wheels this weekend. My question is, im planning on going over the oem recommended wheel diameter by using 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 tires, will this have a serious effect on my braking or other hybrid related technology? I want to go with the taller tires to keep the ride as smooth as possible, but wondering if it'll complicate any other aspects of the car. I didnt post this thread in the general suspension forum as im wondering how this will specifically effect the hybrid technology of the car ('08 gs 450h)

Thanks in advance for your help!

you should be fine with running over spec tires, it won't affect your hybrid systems at all. the only thing that will be affected will be your speedometer as it will not be accurate.

having said that, make sure that your new wheels have the proper offset or you may have rubbing issues if you lower your GSh. use this tire calculator (link below) to make sure your new wheels and tires are the right fit for you. Input your stock wheel size, tire size, and offset info on the left hand column, and the aftermarket wheel size, tire size, and offset in the right hand column. Hope this helps.

You will be fine, I'm running 20's, can't remember the tire size of the top of my head. I do rub in the front a bit, but I am lowered.

I would not recommend going with this size tire. The correct size tires to get if you're going to go with a staggered setup should be 295-25-20 (r) w/ 245-30-20 (f) or 275-30-20 (r) w/ 245-35-20 (f). My GSh has 275-40 (r) 245-45 (f) and NF210's, and it rubs. So, being that you haven't made the purchase yet, you may as well just go ahead and get the correct sizes.
