Also - Do the '09+ GS450h's have greater trunk space?
Picked up my '09 yesterday - confirmed the trunk is slightly larger than prior years.

Congrats!

The gas mileage is pretty generous compared to other non-hybrid cars in its class. The best I've seen in my car is 27.7 hwy!

Hi there.,

I really appreciate your comments on Lexus GS 450H. I plan to buy a 2007 Lexus GS 450H , 93,000 miles. I really don't know about the hibrid engine and its battery. So with this high mileage GS 450H, will I have technical problem with the battery and hibrid engine. And according to you, how much the price is reasonable to buy this car

Thanks

Loi Nguyen

I'm not sure what the vehicle has or the condition of the car, I'm guessing its not certified since it has that many miles, so with NADA and KBB they peg it around $25,000-$27,000 saying that keep in mind that the vehicle is very rare not many people own them, and the battery is covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles so if something is wrong bring it it, but I have heard from service guys at my dealership that nobody brings in the Hybrids for problems. Hopefully this helped

Hello Loi. Haven't seen or heard of any battery replacement issues. The Prius has been extremely reliable for a hybrid. As bigblack stated it is covered for 8/100k miles.

Dear 1SICKLEX., Thanks for your comment. The one thing i'm really worried about this car is the battery and high mileages. I think, If I buy tis car I have to spend a lot of money for 100K maintenances and replace the battery. I haven't made decision to buy this car so far.

Thanks

Whats your price range cause I'm sure there are better cars out there in your area that don't have that many miles on the car, I think it is a good car that would last you a long time I usually don't keep a car up to 100,000 miles but I'm sure this car can reach pass that!

The 450h has no additional maintenance compared to a regular vehicle. They simply check the hybrid components at service intervals, nothing needs changing or replacing.

I cannot tell you if a GSh with 93k miles will have future issues. Does it have previous maintenance records? If its been taken care of I think the vehicle will be fine.

I think the key question is when do you need to replace the battery? No battery lasts forever.

Maybe 10 years from in service date counting 2 years after warranty ends. Just a guess it probably could last for years.

Neither do transmissions, piston rings, water pumps, dome lights. What's the point?

This isn't new territory for Toyota and I don't anticipate the Lexus hybrid batteries having any shortcomings.

great thread.. I think I might pick one up soon too. Just totaled my GS3 Sport Design and test drove a 450h last weekend. I love it!

Loi, I found a couple with 50k or less miles for around $30k, so if that's in your price range I'd rather get something lower than a 90k one. How much was the 90k one listed for if you don't mind me asking?
