Ecvt
I have been trying unsuccessfully to find more info on how the ECVT operates. In particular I have the following questions:
1) Is there the equivalent of a torque converter connecting the ICE to the tranny?
2) How is the car able to coast so much (compared to a conventional vehicle)? Does the ECVT disengage from the ICE via (electric) clutch? Or is the crankshaft in the ICE continuing to rotate while the car is coasting?
I have found general info on the ECVT but nothing that answers these questions.
