@waves@ I'm a Newbie to CL - will post pics soon- Just purchased 07' GS450H last week- for my wife - wow that car is extremely fast for a 4dr sedan - she is loving it and you know what they say "a happy wife is a happy life". I will be posting some pictures. I am having the stock rims painted this Monday the same color as the Fsport rims until we decide if we are putting Vos cv3 or cv4's. Also deciding on an artisian or lexon rear roof spolier and I'm liking the Prussian blue front grille. Love this site

Partly because I need more space. Another reason was a twenty something popped collar douche who had just bought an 08' (temp plates still on ) decided he was going to tell me everything about the GS450h because I owned one... then proceeded to tell me everything...wrong. While I was getting gas.

Statements Douche made to me. I just wanted to get gas and go home.

07' huh, The 08'-10's have 25 more HP from the E-motor.
Car does the 1/4 mile under 12sec. (O'rly)
Always drive in hybrid pwr mode. It shifts faster. ( I imagined beating him down with the pump handle after that.)
I get 35mpg average.
I smoked a 911 my first night. (my guess is it was a poop brown 1982 NA, driven by a professor of economics)
Ever been on ClubLexus.com (My response is "No, I'll check that one out.")(My plate frame actually says neurocity on it.)

If you're reading this... Douche. Open your eyes before you open your mouth. You made me want to shoot your parents for making a bad decision years ago.


So yea. I'm looking for a 4runner now. Planning on going back to bikes.

 

if you need more space, swapping your GSh for something with more room makes sense. but don't change your car because of an irritating experience, you'll get that with any car you drive whether it be a econo beater or a hi end luxury car (you can find douches in all makes & models). just take a deep breath and relax. but if you have your heart set on a 4runner & a bike, congrats.

 

Its definitely a space issue. The 25-27mpg I average is really not an offset to the space needed. The speed however will be missed.

But I want to eventually get a ski boat and start having fun on weekends.

 

My wife drives a 2003 V8 4Runner Limited, and I like it almost as much as my 450h...

Couple of things about the 2003 and newer 4Runners... listen for a cold engine "tick" that is a sign of a leaking exhaust manifold, a common and expensive thing to fix since Toyota attached the Catalytic converter to the manifold.. Just the part is 1200ish.

XREAS is a cool option on the suspension, it works great, but if/when it fail, it is also expensive to fix.

The drive-shaft also "clunks" this can be fixed by loading up the zerk fittings with LOTS of grease, or you can replace the drive shaft with a GX470 unit for about $200.

And the V6 and the V8's both drink gas... Don't expect much more than 18 mpg highway.
