I would not go with option 3 unless you want to get less mpg

Try driving the car as it was designed to be driven instead of forcing it to operate like a conventional vehicle. A little touch on the brake pedal during decel will activate the regenerative braking system and you will slow faster than an RX350 coasting in 5th gear. Apply a little more force and you can get both the regenerative braking and normal brakes. It really is not an issue if you work with the car system instead of trying to defeat it.

I actually found it hard to get used to braking in the 400. I dont know if its something different with our Aussie spec ones, but they're pretty "grabby" right from the start. I have to be really light with the brake pedal, otherwise ill get thrown through the windscreen!
