Check Engine Light, Code P1423?
That is likely evap related, you are right to check the gas cap. Other issues could be a hose disconnected or cut off of the airbox. In other vehicles of older age this could be the charcoal canister or line running back from vapor pressure sensor back to the charcoal canister.
Can you elaborate more on your situation? Because I have a simliar situation once and it was caused by something totally different from the gas cap.
Hmm...Well, in my situation I had a similar problem. But, my instrument cluster was dim and the check engine light came on. I couldn't start the engine. So, I thought I was doomed. I looked in the manual and it's some malfunction of the engine that I must take to the dealer immediately. But, I couldn't just leave the car like that. I waited and then tried starting the car and it was good. I had the car taken to the dealer the next day. Apparently, it was the torque battery running weird. Which was my initial hypothesis. They replaced it. Was your situation similar?
