Default Driver's Side Instrument Panel

Have you any of you had any luck getting at the driver's side instrument panel?

I think my fingers are too big or something. I can't reach down far enough to get the lid off.

I think I blew a fuse in power outlet #2, so I want to examine it and possibly replace it. But strangely enough, the lid on the box of the driver's side instrument panel says relay, and nothing about fuses.

If you've managed to get the lid off, please tell me how you did it!!! Thanks.

I looked and felt all under my dash gave up as I had the knee airbag cover. I found the only fusebox is under the hood between the inverter and fender according to my owners manual.

Thanks for having a look Herb. I actually went to the dealership as I was having tremendous difficulty, but it turned out that what I was looking at was in the wrong place. In the engine compartment are 3 sets of fuse boxes, and what I thought was the driver's side instrument panel wasn't. That box was labeled relays which confused me as it should be have been labeled fuses.

It is not clear from the owners manual, but it turns out that the driver's side instrument panel is in the passenger compartment on the driver's side and is under the knee airbags. Its way down there and awkward to get at and you will need a flashlight to see it as well.

So thats where it is if anybody needs to get at it.
