Question nevermind...

Hi all,
I just got my rx 400h (2006 CPO) last night, even had my kids bring a DVD to watch on the ride home... BUT we couldn't ever figure out how to get the audio to work in the back. Never got it to come out of any speakers or through the wireless headphones (new batteries, turned on). I COULD get the DVD to play up front, with audio if I selected "Disc" on the sound system settings, but this only affected the front. I'd really like to be able to listen to my own music up front while my kids space out in silence watching their DVD in the back. How do I get this to work? When I click on "audio" on the remote, DVD is highlighted, but the "audio source" section at the bottom still says whatever is set up front, currently FM1.

I'm confused. (obviously)
I'm sure this is something really stupid that I've missed, but I've tried everything I can think of, and I've already read the manual. Last night, the kids just ended up turning subtitles on - which worked... but not really worth the money. :-)

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer...
Heidi

** update ** I have no idea what I did, because I've pushed so many stinking buttons this morning, but it works now.

So, I came to delete my post, but I can't figure out how. Apparently this new car has turned me into an absolute idiot.

I did the same thing, just fooling around with the remote in the back seat. On a long trip at Christmastime my wife and I started trading off driving chores every couple of hours - while the off-duty driver watched a movie from the back seat. After shuffling seat positions and using a few strategically placed pillows, it can get quite comfortable back there.

When it came my turn to relax, I found playing with the RSES was more fun than watching one of her chick flicks. A couple of tricks I learned involved the remote. She was listening to the FM up front, while I was watching the movie on the headsets in the rear. I found by poking around on the remote I could change her radio station from the back seat.

Now if you time it just right, you can drive your spouse nuts by pretending to be asleep, holding the remote so the business end is just poking out from under the blanket. At the end of a song, just poke the remote to bring up some really awful music or a screaming pitchman. When you get really good at this, wait until she reaches up to change the station back and do it for her from the backseat. She passed from frustration to violence in record time, thinking she had hit the steering wheel controls. I had to stop before she ran us off the road, pounded the radio, blew a fuse, or I severely injured my sinuses trying to suppress laughter while pretending to snore. Do you think I told her I was responsible? Of course not, I plan to do it again . . .

LOL... that's pretty funny. I'll have to make sure my kids don't read this post, or get that creative, as they'd drive me nuts in no time. But now you've pointed out the one downside to being single - I never get to ride in the backseat & watch movies. Hmmm... And here I thought I was perfectly happy.

After one of the longest courtships on the planet, I consider myself the Evel Knievel of marital relationships. Fortunately my bride is a long-suffering and forgiving soul.
