Exactly. There's no model number, so what does covering up the word Lexus and the logo accomplish??? And the tape along the top of the window is hiding what, exactly?

Hey, here's a good one: Did you know that the 911 attacks were really done by the US Government just so we'd have an excuse to invade the middle east?

You guys crack me up!

Nice looking car, though...

as simple as they don't want people to even know it's a lexus.

and tape along windows? this could be a test mule, which a lot of times have tape all over them. in fact, if it's a new LS460L, i would doubt why there are tapes

You'll note the Michigan plates. They probably masked off the car's make in order to avoid being vandalized by Big 3 executives.

Just a thought .. but maybe testing for the "wind noise" on the new LS ?? Its been somewhat of a common complaint.

could be too. i still tend to believe this is some sort of test car

but if it's for wind noise, shouldn't he roll up the windows?

Yes, not likely testing for windnoise, & it's not a problem with laminated glass on a LWB anyway right ?

Besides the headlight, that "Hybrid" emblem would've done it
I wonder if it's an emblem or it's etched onto the chrome piece?

From this picture, not too sure if it's a reflection, but it does look noticeable and bulgy?

I think you're right That + the rims should make it a very strong possibility

From the pictures, i can see the following that might suggest that the test car is indeed a 600hL

1.) The rims
2.) the sharkfin
3.) stereo camera
4.) Wood trim on the rear-seat roof handles

I think its safe to say this was the 600. Why would they cover up a car that been out since october? The only other thing i can think of is maybe they were testing an "ls500"?

I think a LS500 probably won't come for at least a couple more years. I do expect they will likely upgrade the LS460 to LS500 with the mid-cycle refresh/facelift though .

Well, I don't think so, but you may be right. The 600hl has already been shown at several shows (see pics. above), so I just don't see why they would bother to try and cover it up???

Well the new skyline coming out has been show and even has a commercial but they are still covering it up.. But I also don't know why they would cover it up.. Maybe so people won't go complaining to the dealership about how they want one and think that they have proof that they are being sold..

Isn't the sharkfin supposed to be a standard on ALL Lexus LS vehicles?

Of course, two years ago, the sharkfin is only available on JDM Lexus vehicles (IS and GS for that matter).

But from what I know, the sharkfin IS supposed to be a standard thing for both JDM and overseas export versions alike.

Unless I've missed something lately......
