12V Battery Concerns, 40.2V!!
Hello dear CL members,
2006 RX400h AWD and nav with 300,000 kms
The car has been sporadically failing to start, sometimes after sitting over night. When READY fails to display on the instrument cluster the car does not start. So that checks out normal.
The car starts with a boost or a jump to the 12V battery.
I replaced the 12V battery with a new one from the dealer approx 21 months ago.
12V battery voltage with ICE running read 40.2V! and with the reading after turning the ignition off reads 16.7V!
Parasitic draws seems nominal with the ignition off.
Would a bad 12V battery cause this or is it a component? DC-DC converter?
Would love to learn from your past experiences and insights!
