Default 2025 RX 450h+

Hi,

My plugin RX makes a loud clicking noise that I hear while it is parked in my garage while not running, key not near, etc.

The closest I can describe the sound is a very fast relay chattering sound. I thought at first it might be the parking brake which makes a noise but that is a different sound

it has done it numerous times but short lived when I try and get a bead on the area it is coming from

Anyone else?
Thanks in advance

Many modern cars have timed components that make noises after a period of time...sometimes 6 - 10 hours after a shutdown.

Look to the EVAP system in your search.

I have both NX and RX450h+ plug in and does many noises lol. First one is when I first plug it in there click from transformer, and slight one under trunk section. The other is when I open the driver sides door it goes through almost like cycle of clicking noises and then ends after a few seconds. The other are just random noises I hear if I am working in charge which may be cooling fans or heating fans.

I think it is all normal, I am using the 120v wall charger.

What you are most likely hearing is the leak detection pump which will cycle after the car has sat for approximately five hours. The car's ECM will perform a self-diagnostic check of the EVAP system, once the fuel system has adequately cooled down. This tests for leaks in the EVAP system and if found, it will throw a DTC. One of the most common ones is a leaking fuel tank cap, which obviously, is easy to fix.

The sound that you hear when opening the driver's door is the ABS pump pressurizing the brake system.

While we are on sounds, @StefanoS - since you have so many of them figured out () - Is the sound you hear from the engine compartment on turning the 450H+ on in early morning or such in mild-summer days - is that the heatpump's valve reversing from pumping cold air into the cabin configuration from previous day, to pumping heat the next day (with the climate system in Auto mode) ?

It doesn't happen on all days, but the above seems like the culprit ?

I am not certain about this one, as I have not really experienced it, to date. I guess that I had better keep my ears open.
