My friend has a 2014 rx450 h with 150k It stalled. it is at a Toyota dealership. They diagnose below. I asked how and tech stated that it will not manually crank.

“Good afternoon, the engine is locked up with some kind of internal failure. Fluids are normal.
What happened was the engine locked up causing EV MODE to run only. This depleted the hybrid battery too. We are looking at another engine and hybrid battery est 15000.00
I hate this. We have tried to even recover the hybrid battery but not successfull.”

I am going to guess it is fuel pump or fuel pump ecu.
My friend will take it to Lexus but I suggested an independent toyota specialists shop

what does everyone think?

 

I would suggest visiting an EV independent shop where they can suggest alternatives even replacing bad cells.

Update. Independent shop recommends used cvt. They were able to turn on the vehicle when they put it in neutral.
