Pardon me if these questions have been asked before. Can you run an RX 400h on just the gasoline engine? I have a 2006 RX400h with 90k. I received the red triangle light 'Check Hybrid System", "Check VSC System". I had my Lexus dealer look into the errors and they told me the interior needed to be removed to check for water leaks and I need to replace the Hybrid Battery and all ECUs. I had the 12 Volt battery checked at two different auto supply stores and both said the battery is good. I do not want to spend the money for a new Hybrid battery and I hate to get rid of the car because I really like it. What are my options?

Dry your car out properly – dehumidify etc. Seal the rear seams, luggage runners, hinge points (I used plumbers LS-X sealant).

Check code TIS – likely will be P0AA6 INFXXX (XXX indicates variety of P0AA6)

I had the Isolation warning – dried the hell out of my car [bone dry] – reset auxiliary battery (neg pole off) and was able to remove Hybrid warning. I may have been fortunate in that no contacts/cell corrosion had occurred. Have had 10K miles trouble free driving (murphy's law go away).

That was my experience. You could use Dr Prius app to check cell conditions – though you'll need to know how to comprehend matrices.

But you'll need the Hybrid battery otherwise you have a brick.

 

You can also change individual battery packs with used ones bought online. I've seen a few do it themselves on the forum. You can also have a qualified mechanic swap them out.
