Default Hello from the North!

Hi everyone!
I'm from Ontario, Canada (the land of rust buckets) and I just picked up a 2010 Silver HS250h with the Ultra Premium package. I'm sure it's different that the trims in USA, but it's got everything (including ML stereo) except the wide angle front camera and the radar cruise control.

It has 180,000km (~110,000 miles), but it was in great shape and well maintained at a dealer in the past. Did all the recalls including the transaxle in 2018.

Any tips or things that I should look out for? I remember I had read about upgrading the navi HDD to a SSD as all HDDs are prone to death. Anyone have any info on how to replace it?

Welcome to CL and this small rarely visited forum. Enjoy your new ride. Ours is still great at 90,000 miles.
I cannot answer your Nav questions and suggest you try some searching.

The only maintenance I recommend in addition to the usual stuff is to lubricate the brake caliper slide pins every couple of years as the grease wears out, they freeze up and are the main cause of frozen calipers. Often ignored on hybrids because the brake pads last over 100,000 miles. You can find youtube videos, search for any Toyota or Lexus as all are the same. You can do this yourself in less than 30 minutes if handy at all. Get some Motorcraft XG3A brake caliper grease or Sil-Glyde to lubricate them. The slide pin bolts are not very tight, only about 25 pounds torque.
Always use jack stands.

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I've been maintaining our 2011 Camry SE since brand new, so I'm pretty handy with that.

I've been reading as some folks advising to not do work by yourself (such as bleeding brakes) as most requires TechStream to update settings or make changes. I do have a functional TechStream and laptop that I've used to pair keys for the Camry, so I should be set with that.

Lastly, it's seems like service manuals are a rare gem for this car and the only way to get them is through TIS. Would there happen to be any bits and pieces that are floating around in some WIKI?

I found one on DVD on eBay a few years ago. It was interactive. Not sure if any are still available.
The HS has the same engine and hybrid drivetrain as the Camry hybrid of the same model years.
FYI the rear suspension has shock absorbers which are easy to replace. I found 2 OEM online for less than $100. OEM is apparently the only source for shocks and struts on the HS.
Also the inner tail lights on the trunk lid are prone to failing LED bulbs due to all the motion. New lights are about $200 each. However usually some of them keep working and they mostly duplicate what is on the other half.

Also the 12 volt battery is in the trunk, behind the rear wall against the back seat on the passenger side. OEM is really your only source, although they last a really long time. My original one lasted 9 years! About $300 for a new one.
