Many thanks. Their price is a bit cheaper than what I paid. Will definitely use them in the future!

No, thank you for a great write-up and follow up on your O2 sensor !! Nice job.

Goes to show you, sometimes you get what you pay for in the auto replacement parts game. How about some of those cheap brake rotors you can get from China? Those thing cause problems too.

Thanks. Agree on the aftermarket parts but most of the lexus O2 writeups seem to indicate using an aftermarket part was OK...obviously in this case that was not the case. Now three days in, probably 12 drive cycles and 100 miles and no check engine light so it looks like I've solved the problem!

Just an update for the group to close this thread. No recurrence of the check engine light after all this time and miles. Looks like it really was a sensor issue and shows how sensitive the HS may be to aftermarket O2 sensors. Not sure if a Denso product ordered from somewhere else would have fixed the problem or not, but I personally will not be putting in any non-Denso O2 sensors in the future (of course hopefully I will not be replacing an O2 sensor for a good long time now)...

December 1, 2015. I am facing this problem now with my HS. Will try your solution. However, Sewell's website doesn't seem to be working anymore. Any trusted source guys?

First you have to read your code and figure out which sensor failed.

If you open your hood, right there on top of the exhaust pipe is the "Air- Fuel Ratio Sensor".
Its factory part number is: 89467-75010 and it'll run you about $175 for a genuine Lexus part from any online Lexus parts stores. I don't know how much the dealer would charge.

Down underneath is the "Oxygen Sensor".
It's part number is: 89465-75010 and it's about $150.

Like others posted, try to buy a factory part (Denso?) and you won't have any problem in the future.

Also, Sewell parts no long sells online.

If anyone is handy, here's how you replace the oxygen sensor:

Heated Oxygen Sensor.pdf

And the air-fuel ratio sensor:

Have fun, save some money.

There have been many threads on where to buy discount parts since Sewell stopped their internet site. Start here

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/clu...xus-parts.html

Also Lexus South Atlanta has good internet prices.

Thanks Airman and Clutchless!! The code is P0136. O2 Sensor it seems.

I called Lexus parts store yesterday and they quoted me $420 CAD! Ridiculous pricing here in Vancouver Canada... and they wont even give me the part number.

The error code disappeared this morning though. I guess the car fixed itself? haha until the engine light pops up again, online seems to be the way to go!

Thanks again guys!

Seems like an easy reach! I'll most likely be tackling this myself. Thanks Airman

L-TCI-3140

per that service bulletin, replace b1s2 and reprogram ecm.

Ive had to do this to a few vehicles. Used a Toyota part every time with no issues.
