This has been bothering me since I got the car. I finally solved it.

I put 2 strips of weatherstripping (stacked) on the coins, sticky side up and then closed the lid. The weatherstripping keeps the coins for rattling and from driving me crazy.

Nice! What thickness did you use?

 

It's the thinner one, but it wasn't enough so I stacked them together. You could also use Black, but that's all I had around.
