good job this isn't ClubFord then. and i certainly don't think many fords are good or great looking.

speaking of the HS250h and Ford, the HS250h was reviewed (sort of) on MotorWeek this week. and one of the things they said was the grille was Ford like.

they praised it's flatter than expected handling, its performance, and (gasp) its looks.

they criticized its less than impressive fuel economy, the cheaper seeming than expected interior trim bits, and the lack of a fold down rear seat.

they started out by calling it a 'posh prius'.

overall a fairly positive review, but they didn't do performance tests or give pricing.

I'm going to Tarrytown on the 28th.

Judging from the pictures I dont think HS250h is that ugly. Certainly isnt pretty, but quite frankly, not good looking.

I am however disappointed in the interior and choice of engine. Lexus should really start building interiors to their pre L-finesse standards, and IMO they should've used the V6 engine from the current IS250, perhaps add direct injection to it along with the hybrid drivetrain, and call it HS300h. If they used this engine they could've potentially extended it into ES and GS lineup as well.

At least IMO
Agreed. It's just too tall looking. Sure you get more interior headroom, but it doesn't look good.

Exactly! l love owning and driving my 2009 Lexus IS F. This is a club for...oh wait...Lexus! Paul...what about you?

Sure the references are there, but they forget to mention that the HS' grill is a throwback to a few Lexus concepts prior to Ford adding them to their production line. Remember these?

I'm sure you will see full evaluations in the near future. The info they have disseminated was from the press event just last month here in SoCal. I was in their same group during the event at Newport Coast and actually had dinner with the program director of MW and the Chief Engineer of the IS C.

I think Lexus' target for the HS is the entry level luxury market. Sure they could have easily made a whole new engine for this line or create something more powerful, but that would ultimately drive the price of the car upward. I wouldn't be surprised to see a wide range of hybrid tech spread out to different applications and platforms for the future.

Entry level luxury hybrid is smart. Lexus already has higher end luxury covered.

The HS really has challenges going on with its exterior design. First thoughts with people are "Corolla"...

Will this be a Lexus that sells based on it being a Lexus and its other merits? Will it fail?

Still trying to swallow the fact that this interior has the circle-L pinned to the exterior of it.

Calling the HS250h a Corolla from an internet picture based perspective is pretty ignorant. See and experience the car in person before you judge it.

Mike, have you had a chance to sit in the HS and check out the details? I really think they did a good job with the interior. Definitely a lot of attention to detail here.
