Hey everyone,
Can someone explain what in the world this is for the HS? I thought these cars couldn't be modified — or at least that's what the owner's manual says. And with it being a hybrid, I always figured it was best not to mess with anything under the hood.

For those who don't know, this is a carbon chamber air intake kit made specifically for the Lexus HS 250h hybrid — and from what I can tell, it's only available in Japan!

So here's my question:
Why does Japan get all the cool stuff? From the aggressive spindle front bumpers to Android-based head units with CarPlay, and now this intake kit — it's like a whole different world over there. Meanwhile, here in the States, we're left in the dust when it comes to mods for the HS.

Every time I browse a Japanese website and see all the things they’ve done with their HS models, I can’t help but feel jealous. And don't even get me started on trying to order from those sites — half the time it's just not possible.

At this point, I’m seriously considering taking a trip to Japan just to see what I can pick up in person… honestly, that doesn't sound like a bad idea!

 

I've always heard the HS 250h had a modifier culture going in Japan... but I've never seen any such site! Share, please?

And for sure you could install that air intake, but I don't think it would do anything except look cool when you open the hood.

The HS250h has the same engine as the Camry hybrid. It probably has less room under the hood, but I bet it takes the same air filters. You may want to see what similar after market air filters are made for a similar model year Camry hybrid as they may fit. Although I agree it will not make the car any faster, maybe louder and will look cool when you open the hood.
