I lost my phone saturday morning and had no idea where to go so I drove past the Starbucks next to Walmart 4 or 5 times looking for a group of guys but didn't see anyone/lexus' around.
I shouldve wrote down the flippin info. My girlfriend was pissed cause she wanted to see everyones cars.
I had a blast in HI tho and her and I thank you all so much for the help. I'll be back soon... hopefully for good.... seriously.

Anyway, hope you had fun. Sounds like you guys have to come back and schedule it the next time we plan a cruise! If you plan to move here, don't forget the Lex and stop by Revision Audio after you pick it up from the docks!

I got a replacement from Sprint last night. Luckily I whiz-kid synced my phone to outlook before I left so I'll have all my numbers/schedules/e-mails that I had in my last Treo.
I am definitely NOT a Seattle type guy and I'm in love with the sun so I've had my options narrowed to California, Florida, Hawaii, or Vegas. Before the trip I had visited all of the places but Hawaii. This trip was like the final taste test...
California: Expensive, Kind of dingy in parts, too crowded, pollution
Florida: Expensive, Wacky weather, Old People
Vegas: Death by alcohol poisoning
Hawaii: Expensive
I've decided that I'd rather deal with high sticker prices over death... and as far as weather, beauty, attitude, and the overall feel of being there... Hawaii takes the cake.
It's weird... almost everyone we met there, tourist or resident, was from or lived in Seattle. All of those that moved from here to there said it was the best decision they've ever made.
Figuring out employment and housing is, as always, the tough part. For the past 5 years I've worked as a health information tech at various hospital/practices in Seattle. I'll be completing a surgical tech program in a year or so to scrub up in an operating room. I'll also work towards a radiology tech degree and specialize in interventional radiology. While I'm in school I'll work as a personal trainer at nights to save up money. I'm really open to anything, but I'll ultimately aim for employment at a hospital. I'd love to work outdoors or on the water, but I don't have much experience in anything aside from healthcare and a bit of retail. I'll save up 4 - 6 months worth of living expenses before making the move. I'm very excited and determined to make this happen. Researching and planning during the next year or so will be fun.
*edit: Oh ya... I won't forget the Lex... how could a father abandon his baby like that?

Why don't you start another thread? "Thinking of moving to Hawaii" and start a discussion instead of continuing your "visiting" thread. Just my $.02.
As far as moving here, I think it will be a good move for you. Don't know much about the medical field and radiology, but I know there is a great shortage of doctors and nurses. Maybe chikken can chime in. He's a specialist.

Come on, no need to stereotype

Glad to hear you had a good time down here. Moving down here can definitely be pricey, as a number of Hawaii-borns do the reverse-migration to the mainland to try to kick-start their lives. Just about every one that I know misses home eventually and plans to come back.
Things are more expensive, but housing is where it really hurts. We really haven't experienced much of a price drop, if any, after the bubble.
BTW, if you haven't already, I would suggest you start your "moving to Hawaii" thread in the CL Hawaii forum...newly created after you started this one. I doubt this forum gets nearly as much attention anymore.

Just to clarify there is a new CL of Hawaii forum that PHML was kind enough to work with DaveGS4 and establish for us.
