Default steering wheel vibration 65-70 MPH

I have a vibration in my steering wheel between 65-70 MPH. I had my wheels speed balanced with no remedy. Is this connected to the TSB for the "clunk fix"? Or could I have a bad belt in a tire? I figured if it was a bad belt than they would not be able to balance my wheels. I did recently get rearended mildly, but there was only a scratch on my bumper- The trailer hitch took most of the impact. Any replies would be appreciated.

I have an 04 GX that also has that symptom at the same speed range. It seems to be something that wheel balancing doesn't make go away. I've had a lot of cars in my life and never had one that balancing didn't take care of, so I'm also interested in seeing if others have this going on.

My GX is also the Silver Pine color - maybe that's the problem... :-)

Default Ditto...

Pine Silver 2004 - I also have the slight vibration. It is very subtle, almost like a hum you can feel in your hand. Is this what the two of you are feeling?

The vibration in mine ranges from what you described to a much worse vibration that makes me drive a different speed until I can get to a tire shop for balancing - after which it is still there but much less (like you described).

I was thinking maybe it was a defective tire since it won't balance out completely - but now I'm finding out it's the paint color all along….

I have the same thing around the same speed. Funny thing is sometimes its not there at all and others it shakes my hands so bad I change speeds. I think I have seem another thread that mentions this, if anyone has a simple answer that would be cool.

I had the same problem with mine and would carry it and get the tires/wheels balance and it would get better for a short period of time. It ended up being the front wheel bearing and I got it replaced and no problems since. Hope this helps.

Default Fix?

I took it to Lexus, and it needs the front driver side bearing replaced - I'll let you know if that fixes it... $550 bucks.

Did repair help the issue? I have the 2010 GX and I have the same problem that cannot be resolved by wheel balancing.

I had wheels replaced to a set from a demo. Also dealer did two tire change and then I have shifted to a different set of Michelins (LTX MS2). Still no improvement
