How do fit, finish, materials compare to the GX460?

Aren't all the GX's making the rounds early preproduction models? The interior plastics and other parts can change when actual production begins.

Nice. Supply and demand will affect the actual out the door price.

Told by the dealer today that production is pushed back to February and deliveries are more in the April first arrivals.

Several others have indicated the same. I heard that the production line was stopped when something (likely a manufacturing defect) was found. Not a trivial amount of time with this delay. If you hear anything else on this matter please keep us posted!

Nice. Did the dealer reached out to you with the information or you asked the salesperson?

Always good to have a dealer like that.

I've seen premium fuel as both required and recommended in the Lexus releases. When recommended it states performance may be less when using regular fuel. Anyone see anything definite on this? Just curious as the same engine in Toyota vehicles all use regular, seems Lexus tuning for premium is just to give it a kick up in performance.

I currently own three GX's. I run premium in my '23, and my wife and son run regular in the '21 and '16. I have driven the two "regular" gas consumers. In WOT acceleration, there is a difference. From a practical standpoint, I doubt any mere mortal (self included) can tell any difference. I have however, on long trips noticed a huge difference in MPG between various brands of gas. In August we moved our son to Florida and we took my '23 and the '16. The differences in MPG between the two were di minimis. On one of our pit stops I filled up both at a major oil company station, and they both got a good 2-3 MPG less. The irony was that both were driven at 75+ through the mountains and got 22+ MPG and the last leg was cruising on beautiful smooth, flat roads in southern Georgia and Florida. I don't recall the brand name of gas, but I do remember the station and will not stop there next month! BTW, in case anyone is interested, we have always exceeded the EPA highway estimate of 19 MPG, and typically get 22+ MPG on those trips. (My wife gets that around town in my "old" '21, that I used to only get in the low teens...Her right foot is a lot lighter than mine.)

Saw more info on a Youtube video and it was noted that premium is 'recommended' per the Lexus specs, so regular can be used.

Aside from updates/designs, is anyone considering getting the previous gen GX...I heard that there are some good deals to be had (> $4k at some dealerships).

I plan to get a Luxury or luxury+ this summer and will keep my '15. I run both regular and premium in my current GX without any issues at 80k miles now. I'm glad Lexus keeps it premium recommended, not required for this GX550

it is completely dumb because the Tundra has higher power ratings on 87 octane.

That said, on this TTV6 there will likely be a more noticeable difference in performance with premium fuel than the 4.6L V8. F150’s with the 3.5L ecoboost can pick up 30-35 wheel horsepower on 93 vs 87. They are perfectly content running 87 but the PCM with increase both boost and ignition timing when it detects higher octane.
