I have seen some mention elsewhere there is a version of the 460 outside of North American market which 3rd row can be deleted from the factory.
I've always assumed in brochures this was just a reference that you didn't need to use the 3rd row and it could simply be stowed and not really a 5 seat version. Now I am not so sure.
I have certainly never seen a picture of this 5 passenger model.
If this is available perhaps more factory trim parts to retrofit cargo area for those doing a 3rd row delete?
I am using these 2014 and 2019 Russian brochures as an example.
Google Translate: "7 SEATER VERSION
7-seater modification of the GX 460 model guarantees incomparable driver comfort and six passengers. Second row seats with a folding center armrest can be moved longitudinally in the range of 135 mm to ensure additional space for legs. The third row seats have high-quality upholstery and comfortable for two adult passengers. All seven seats are equipped with head restraints.
5 SEATER VERSION
GX 460 version with two rows seats will appeal to those who do not need a third row. Thereby there is additional space in the luggage compartment."
"... 5- AND 7-SEATER VERSIONS
The 7-seater modification of the Lexus GX 460 model guarantees incomparable comfort to the driver and six passengers. Second row seats with folding center armrest in the longitudinal direction in the range of 135 mm to ensure extra legroom. Third row seats have high-quality upholstery and are comfortable for two adult passengers. All seven seats are equipped with head restraints. Lexus version
The GX 460 with two rows of seats will appeal to those who do not need third row. This creates additional space in the luggage compartment."
It would appear cargo capacity is increased by about 3.6 cubic feet. I wonder how that compares to someone removing the 3rd row and using something like a Goosegear?
Headrests in two row 5 seater models (Post #2 reference above)
Load floor example... looking around it would appear this 5 seater option in other markets came around for '14+ models. I have yet to see a 10-13 in Eurasian ads that show the 5 seat config.
Where/how do you find this stufff?! Very cool. Thanks for the link and info. Yep, that's basically how the 2nd row worked in my 470, if I remember right. Maybe I'm doing it wrong and the seat bottom does flip up and forward, and then the seat back folds down into the space vacated by the seat bottom. Don't think so, but I'm going to try again.
