Lightbulb #A760F mods - #transmission

Has anyone here did any mods to their transmission using either a Zip Kit, Line Booster, or WATS lock up kit? I’m debating on these when I do my filter and flush. I find it annoying when the trans jumps in and out of lock up and this is where the WATS would come in.

No experience with any of the mentioned mods.

When you have the OEM pan off please take the measurement asked about in post #216 of the transmission fluid change thread. Thank you. The PML pan is the only non OEM mod (if this measurement is the same) I am considering at the moment.

They sell a AT valve body upgrade as well.

A possible A760F mod (still needs confirmed by next person that takes off the pan): https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...l#post10789169

A GXOR member stated they didn't recommend it for the street and that it was harsh. They stated that downshift at speed "drags the tires".

I can't say I am familiar with that term. Perhaps behavior like a dragging clutch on a manual? Or just a really hard slamming gear change?

Thoughts?

Even if a possibility I likely won't touch it, I love the way the GX shifts and more importantly the wife isn't complaining about it so happy wife, happy life.

I'd be more willing to do the TC lockup and heavy duty valve body mods together if I ever tow with ours.

If one didn't have to drop the pan each time to make an adjustment more would likely play with it more. I have no intention of adjusting mine either.

GXOR members like the torque converter lock up kit and the valve body. I will do something to the valve body and waiting to hear from Cruiser Brothers on the lock up kit.

There is a company called OVTuned that develops configurable products for the Tacoma and Tundra. Major threads on those forums linked below and the developers are active on those forums as well.
I'm sure they would eventually be willing to put out some GX tunes if there was enough demand.... not sure there is though given the sales volume difference between the vehicles and usage differences as well as the demographic that buys each vehicle.
