Lightbulb '20+ OEM #headlight #conversion for '14-'19

Hey guys I’m wandering if it’s possible to do headlight conversion on the 2015 gx460 with the new 2020 headlights
if it’s possible is it plug n play?
Thanks in advance.

I doubt we’ll know for a while, as the headlights are something like $5k

won’t be plug and play for sure. Before 2020, the height beam is regular light bulb, and without driver support package, there will be no auto high beam either. There will be different light control ECU likely, which could result different harnesses for sure.

I also suspect that the mounting will be different as well. Are the bumpers/grill/fenders identical?

Default 2020 GX460 light swap?

Will be closing in on a deal for 2020 Premium soon. Not interested in the clear taillights that it comes with. Does anyone know if the smoke red taillights on 2020 Sport models are interchangeable with the clear lights on Premium models (simple swap or modification required)?

Anyone interested in swapping their red taillights?

I am pretty sure they are interchangeable. But I have head (not confirmed) that 2020 model has used different harnesses connectors from 2019 and prior. If that was the case, you will only limited to swap with 2020 tail lights only without modification. Otherwise, all tail lights are the same in physical dimension from 2010 onward.

Alternatively, there is an aftermarket option that you can consider: https://carmarka.com/en/lexus-gx460-...m-gx460tlxlkld

Here is the comparison:

Hmm...mine are red. Maybe the red come with the Sport package. I know I didn't know they had different options. Frankly, the clear would look better with my color.

Sports package comes with read tail lights. Others with clear tail lights. Also 2010 to 2013 also come with red tail lights, no clear tail lights, but with a bit different shade of red if I am not mistake.

I too am not a fan of the clear tails on my '17 premium. I have a set that @hzhao pictured above on order but due to the current COVID situation, EMS has suspended services temporarily so I will have to wait until they are back up and running to get them delivered.

I checked the link you gave for those taillights and the images lack the black segment on the underside that you have in your pictures. Were they included in the package or did you have to jury-rig something together to make it fit neatly? I've been looking for an alternative to my clear taillights but am indecisive. I had a pair of aftermarket taillights for my old '99 Prado that were good, but had fitting issues and poor quality rubber that faded after a year or so. This being a Lexus, if I fit any kind of aftermarket hardware on it I want it to be good enough that it could pass for OEM.

Check out his thread, its a later addition to fill in the slight gap that results with the aftermarket light

The black plastic fitting at bottom of lights are come with the GX version of the lights. Please pay attention when you order from the site, there are two kits of lights available, one is for Prado which does not have the bottom black plastic fitting. The GX specific one does come with the fitting.
