It looks like a piece of black tape on the back of the mirror. It has some type of antenna or something on the reverse sticky side.

It looks like an RFID tag for something. Any toll roads around?

I bought it used, came from the Dallas area. I wanted to make sure it wasn't Lexus related before I removed it.

Not Lexus related. I was given one and I let the cameras pic up my license plate instead.

I have toll tags on all my vehicles here in Dallas. That doesn't look like a toll tag. It appears to be a private, big-company parking access tag or maybe even a private community gate tag. There are plenty of both in the area. If its a toll tag it should have the NTTA label i(North Texas Tollway Authority) on it somewhere.

Either way, its not likely you'll need it in Mississippi.

BMW used something like that so they knew when you drove into to service bay (which was a regular occurrence). Your name would appear on one of the big display panels saying, "Welcome David...". It was kinda cool that they would walk up and great you by name without having to introduce yourself each time.

I'll bet it's being used for Lexus for the same purpose, but that's just my guess.
