Default Plastic door protectors . Dealer option, or left over from shipping?

I have these clear plastic door protectors on the edge of all the doors.

I'm like 90% sure they are just a film used to protect the car during transport from Lexus. But it does seem odd that they weren't removed from the dealer.

I bought my car through a friend that is a wholesaler, the dealership is out of state.

I thought it was possible that maybe the dealership sticks these on as an add on door protectors like a clear bra. I've seen dealership have add ons like this to try and differentiate themselves.

Anyone else have these clear edge guards on their door when they bought new?

They haven't curled up, even after going through a car wash.

That is a Clear Bra type material. Leave it on.. I have it like that one on of my cars. I'd have a full clear bra package on my GX had I purchased it new.

How sure are you about this?

If it's something that is supposed to be left on, I intend to leave it.

My fear is that it's something meant to be taken off and could discolor the paint finish if left on.

It's just odd because I didn't pay any extra for any clear bra package.

Other option - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...ge-guards.html

Let me put it this way... I'd bet money on it. Odd part would be if this was the only area they applied it to. On my CX-5 they did hood, front of mirrors, front bumper, headlights, along all doors like your picture as well as inside area of door handles.

Here is what it looks like on my CX-5
