Presumably the newer models do require a subscription for both the app and key fob to work. I just got mine on Friday and haven't had time yet to learn and program all of the features.

GX 460 remote start
In September 2016 I purchased a Certified Preowned 2014 GX460 thinking that it came with remote start...well as you know it doesn't. My question to the forum is, can this function be added and still work with the Lexus remote APP?

I had no problems adding my remote start after purchase. I did shop around between dealers not only for price but also because only a few dealers would install RES+ at the time, the others would just install the regular remote start.

Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this forum. I have just purchased the remote engine start for my 2015 gx460 (prado) I'm chasing some installation help please ? it's the OEM lexus module. Just after some help with where it connects to. I believe it's under the dash but there's alot going on under there. I have techstream software to be able to enable it once its connected.... anyway hope someone can help..... HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL !!!!!

Hmm, most here have the OEM already installed and a few installed (guessing paid someone to install) after market remotes such as the Viper. I haven't seen any posts with your dilemma and I have no clue where the OEM device is installed

are you positive you have remote start? If it came from the factory there should be a keytag with the keys, a small sticker on the driver and passenger window, and i think a warning label in the engine bay. Only way to know for sure is to see if there is an RES module plugged into the 6 pin connector down in the passenger footwell.
