I love the color of this GX. Why is it rare? I always wanted a Candy apple red car and this seems to be the closest. All I see with GX460 is white or black in my area.

I love this color and it was my first choice if I could find one. I have only seen one on the road.

Same issue for me, wasn't one within 1500 miles of me when I bought and they wanted a lot more to get it for me than what I ended up paying for my white GX. My next one will be that color.

Does it only come with that cream interior? That could explain its rarity, many people don’t like the cream interior as it is a maintenance nightmare.

We just got one Claret Mica/Black interior. We left a deposit and it should be here in 2 weeks. Everything around us is black, white or grey...
We might do Black Rims... what you think?

The base models come with either sepia nuluxe (new for 2016) and black nuluxe. Most of the ones I have seen around my area are black and white. In fact just this morning saw 3 black ones and 2 white ones.

Here is my Claret Mica with Ecru interior. We were deciding between this and Fire Agate pearl.

Claret Mica, Sepia interior with Black Chrome Wheels will be my next for sure.

Harder to sell than black, white or the several shades of grey.

And then since it's not on the lot, it's harder to buy as well.

I like the color, but must admit I'd probably choose white or something else

Thanks tecman. My awesome sales friend Thai Tran at Alexandria Lindsay Lexus tracked it down for me. There were none on the 3 dealer lots near me. I wanted either black or the claret. I eventually chose the claret because it was not as common. I no longer have any trouble finding my car in a crowded parking lot.
The ecru interior is not as hard to keep clean as I thought it would. It still looks new. I wipe it down with a cleaner/protectant that was recommended here every couple weeks. Takes me about 10 mins. The only issue is my husband and his black jeans. Since he got a nice new truck he drives that more now. I would chose the light interior all over again.
Thai sent me a text a few months ago. One morning as he went into the customer lounge he saw a photo I had posted at the beach of my GX on their tv screen. Guess someone liked it.

We thought about buying it but after 2 red Lexus (Metador Red Mica) we had enough Red for awhile. Very striking color indeed.

Today we picked up a claret Mica/sepia Premium and love it. almost got a lux, but the semi aniline seats in ecru with 2 toddlers looked like a nightmare to keep clean. We love the color combo and haven't seen another claret GX around the area. only white black and grey.

We also came home with our Claret Mica /Sepia yesterday. Our LX460 has the burgundy color and we loved it enough to add more to the family.

After searching the internet, I found that 90% of the colors were white, gray, black and silver and 75% of those had the Eccru/white interior. So many white and black and those are the only two colors I absolutely did not want.

We look forward to our dazzling Claret in the sunlight.

We still trying to decide if to do the Rims/Wheels Chrome or Black. What would you do?

Lexus upgraded our wheels on our LS460 and five years later our tires were loosing air and the tire shop showed the delamination at the edge was keeping the wheel from sealing. Not a fan of chrome wheels now
