You can't go wrong switching to the LTX MS 2's
i have the latitude tours non OEM and the gx rides great. The LTX has stiffer sidewalls

The LTX M/S2's have a much higher tread wear rating and they don't ride that rough. I would go with the LTX tires over the Latitude Tour HP's. My Latitude Tour HP's wore way too fast.

I hope it does or at least close to the Lattitudes since it is my wife's truck. Mine are getting installed an hour from now.

Wouldn't the Lattitude Tour HP handle better that the LTX? I get lots of squeaks on turns with my stock Bridgestones.

They ride great. I swapped the Lattitudes for he LTX on our Jeep and am 110% satisfied.

Remember to make sure they aren't over-inflated.

As for "handling better"...I mean it's a huge body on frame SUV. It's not going to handle well on any tires. I find the LTX more stable, with much better traction in rain and snow. IMHO...that's how you want a big SUV to feel.

So I had these put in today and I think they feel great, hopefully the wife thinks so too. One thing I noticed is that these tires look so much better on the GX with nice deep tread.

What tire pressure does everyone recommend on these?

I run 35 as well and found MS/2 to be slightly harsher than Tour HP. That being said MS/2 is a much better tire overall (wear rating, inclement weather handling) so I'm very happy.

How long have you had yours? I felt that way originally but as they've settled in and I've gotten the air pressure right I do longer feel that way.

I got my dealer to swap them out before I drove on them. See if your dealer will do the same. They just put the other tires back in their parts dept.

Default Tire shine contributing to Dry Rot, Michelins, need new RX300 tires

Are there any rules against posting pricing on this thread? I would be glad to post the Costco prices if there are no issues.
I had the Michelin Latitudes on my seldomly driven RX300 - stored outdoors for most of the time I've had it. My RX300 has 99k miles, purchased Michelin Latitudes in 2010 with 71k miles at Costco. Tires came with 65k warranty. I've put less than 30k miles since 2010. My mechanic noticed the dry rot so I investigated the warranty - Costco 60 month aspect caught me. Unfortunately, fell just outside it so need to buy new tires. Interestingly, another tire seller said Michelins, compared to other manufacturers, have dry rot issues and the best way to prevent is to put on the wipe on tire shine product, not spray on which I used twice a year (which actually contributes to dry rot according to tire expert). Anyone else experience dry rot or other issues due to spray or wipe on tire shine? Any wipe on product to recommend?

Here's the deal I'm looking at since BJs is also offering a $70 Michelin coupon. Car is also garaged now so dry rot should be less of an issue but I'm still interested in opinions on tire shine. $610 plus taxes for Michelins seems like a no brainer.

Using a tire shine product twice per year isn't going to cause anything with tires. If he was making an argument that using it every week had an impact, that I may buy but twice a year? Its gone in 3 days anyways.

If you have a car that sits outside, after 6 years the tires are going to be dry rotted whether you wear the tread out or not.

Is that quote for the Latitudes or the LTX M/S2?

For tire shine I use a product called Pinnacle Black Onyx Tire Gel which I like a lot:

I don't use spray on tire dressings just because they're messy, I wouldn't be worried about them hurting tires.
