Perhaps a Dual Battery kit like the one in my FJ could have helped in this situation.

This leads me to another question. How is the engine bay size with the 4.6L V8? Any room for at least a dual battery kit or is it pretty cramped in there?

There's no room in there for a dual battery setup. I got back to NH last night and my father charged the battery and it's all good now. I'm still not buying the dead battery just from sitting for 3 weeks but it is what it is. It's going to be sitting a lot in January as I have purchased a new GS for my company and I'll be driving it for 3 weeks or so.

Glad you got it sorted out. I am with you: if the battery was good and fully charged when you parked the GX, three weeks should not have killed it. The truck should have started, and even if it didn't, at least dash and interior lights should have come on. Either there was some draw somewhere, or your battery needs replacement.

I recently had a similar situation with my LS (which I posted about), and that was a combined result of poor judgment on my part with some sort of failure of the "auto power shutoff" feature on the car.

While many dealerships will say these cars have too many computers, etc., and that, as a result, the battery will drain quickly, I have seen no hard evidence of that in the presence of a good battery.

No matter what kind of vehicle it is, if it isn't started and used at least once a month, then you should put a battery maintainer (such as a Battery Tender) on it. A Battery Tender will not only keep your battery properly charged, but will also condition, maintain, and extend the life of your battery.

As I've said I know this..... I have a C6 that has a maintainer on it since it rarely gets driven. I posted this because I was and still am concerned about it going stone dead (2 amps) within 3 weeks. I was and am concerned about a draw. It has sat for almost 3 weeks in the past and never had an issue with starting so that's why I found it odd that it was stone dead, no lights or anything after 3 weeks.

Anyway, it's back home and I'm driving it every day and it's starting fine.

Default 2014 GX battery draining too fast

The car's battery is draining to fast even after jump starting it. Jump started it today morning at 9. Shut off car at 10, and the car wouldnt start. No lights or accessories functioning. Alternator seems to be working. But still the battery is completely dead soon after. Anyone else experiencing this? Any idea what is causing this?

Call the dealer, get a loaner and they will fix. Unless you installed something aftermarket into the elecrtrical system, it will be handled and solved. Not the way a 2014 should be acting.

Thanks Randy. I called the dealer and they said they will replace the battery for free. Usually they try their best not to do anything free of charge. The sales advisor turned out to be decent guy. I didnt install anything aftermarket. The car has always been maintained very well. Never went offroad. Never even pushed the gas pedal more than halfway through. Only 37000 kms yet. Surprised why this happened.

The battery went bad on my 2010 as well. Most likely, a bad battery. I had a bad cell in mine...

Curious...did they replace it with the OEM Panasonic battery? ($900+)

Some of the GS members were also having problems with their battery.

I live 110 miles from the dealer each direction. I went to the local Toyota dealer and they replaced it with a Toyota battery made by Interstate. I sent Lexus the invoice that I paid, they sent me a check in the mail.

Not a direct link to the $900 battery, but it was discussed before.

Link to the low battery issue on the GS forum. Notice the price on their battery as well.

http://www.trademotion.com/parts/201...bgroup=BATTERY

That should take you to Carson Toyota's OEM parts online site. I searched on 2013 GS350 F-Sport battery. Price showing there is over $800. If you check 2014 GX460, battery price is over $100....so must be different batteries.
