Default Rear diff seal, oem or form in place?

Installing a new third member, was wondering what you all thought about the oem paper style ( p/n 42181 )vs a form in place gasket. There is also a kit that seems to come with the rest of the seals ( p/n 0441260501), but not sure if all those are necessary for a 3rd member replacement.

I also saw lube locker makes an 8” gasket, but I didn’t see an 8.2” option for Toyota. Is that compatible with our diff?

Dealers choice, either the OEM gasket or RTV is fine. If you use gasket maker it must be gear oil resistant for example Permatex "green" RTV. I personally prefer the OEM gasket it lasts basically forever.

Never done one on a Lexus, but I am a big fan of the actual gaskets. Never had one leak.
