2023 Sequoia
The nail in the coffin for me is the Hybrid only powertrain. The battery really hurt the interior space and it adds 600 lbs to the rig. I might as well just keep my GX since its smaller, lighter and probably not too much worse off interior wise. Or get a 200 series Land Cruiser and slap a supercharger on it for towing.
If it came down to buying a new full size SUV I'd rather go buy a Tahoe with the 3.0 Duramax or an Expedition and get good interior space and the 4Auto transfer case and sacrifice a little on the offroady part.
I was genuinely excited about the Sequoia because I thought it might replace both my GX and F150. TTV6 that can pull my travel trailer like its not there but smaller than a full size truck and solid axle for the offroady stuff. But they tried to make it too many things and instead of having a good full-size SUV they have something thats not good at anything in particular. The interior sucks for being a FS suv, its too big to be a Land Cruiser replacement, and it lacks the full-time 4wd system that made the last two gen Sequoias so awesome.

My KTM race bike was the ugliest on the planet. But I was not looking at it while racing. Same goes for my truck. Ugly as heck with a mismatched tan soft shell on white truck with super ugly water spotted black rim covers. It does the job though.
The GX's huge grill and overall look of the vehicle is difficult to describe. It's the interior, undercarriage, and powertrain which are a big seller. It is overpriced for what it is. So my wife and I are holding out until this big recession calms down and car prices drop like a rock. I'm looking hard at both the new Sequoia and GX as they are very similar in function. I'm turned off by the current vehicles manufactured/assembeled in the US, Germany, UK or Mexico. Those countries have a long way to go to come close to competing with Japan in terms manufacturing quality and reliability.
That being said, I'm an oddity when it comes to anything mechanical. My brain does not register with bright and shiny nor does it excite me. Reliability is number one followed by functionality. Sometimes it requires modifications to make it functional. As in the case of my KTM it was a competition bike and function was the most important and being just reliable enough to finish each race. I doubt I would ever own another. It was a money pit just like anything that is taken in extreme off road.

Cheers to motorcycling!
air cooled, two valves per cylinder
I was watching this video review on '23 Sequoia
I noticed at around 15:15 he showed the AT pan setup and assume the next GX will have the same setup. It uses the straw method for AT fluid level versus the simplicity of the current "drain" to a drizzle"
which is apparently used in a lot of FWD Toyota applications already.
