Default Engine Vanity Covers

I am curious if people leave their engine vanity covers in place? Coming from older cars, they just seem silly...you can't see your coolant reservoir or brake fluid level, etc... Is there something I am missing as to why I should leave these in the engine bay?

I am one that hates these things ... designed to reinforce that owners have no business worrying about or being involved as to what is happening "behind the black curtain" ... a detached owner experience in my opinion, so we are in agreement.

That aside ... they do provide a level of sound deadening beyond covering up what most of the detached owners would consider ugly engine parts. So for me, I leave them in place ... they are easily removable.

I'd rather store it where it is under the hood than in the garage somewhere. Also provides a level of sound deadening.

I agree with you guys.... these engine covers are lame. But yeah there is no better place to store them then under the hood, so it will remain there.
