Default Defenders or Mastercraft

Hi all, we own a 2015 Gx460, black, had a blue 2008 gx prior, love my Lexus trucks!
The 2015 is in the body shop for paint, and I’m trying to select new tires. Michelin Primacys are on there. I do not like them at all, I want boxier, sportier, not so soft looking tires. Thinking Michelin Defenders (my husband prefers Michelin) or the owner of the shop mentioned Mastercraft because they have more of the look I want. Price difference isn’t the issue, I’m just afraid to try a different tire than Michelin, but wanted your opinion, possibly pictures of your GX460s with the Defenders or Mastercrafts, if they’re out there
thank you!!

Agree on the Primacy ... it's a throw-away OEM tire (like most) that exists only so the vehicle can successfully roll off the lot after delivery. It's a "Touring" tire that IMHO has no business on a truck based platform ... designed for "comfort" at the expense of being responsive and in control.

Any country (France ... meaning Michelin) that would start a 20-year war over rubber is clearly passionate about tires ! Seriously ... Michelin hands down ... my absolute go-to tires. The Defenders last forever ... 60,000+ miles that wear and balance perfectly for the duration, and perform fantastic in all road conditions ... dry, wet and even perform as good as some dedicated winter tires in light snow.

Thank you!! Ended up going with the Defenders. I dug even deeper last night and was able to find a couple pictures of GX460s with Defenders too. I’ll post pictures as well I think once I get it back tomorrow.

I have the Defenders and they've really held up well, would buy again in a heartbeat.

michelin is the go to brand for quality. good choice
for others that havent already bought, defenders are good. if you have much snow and dont want to change tires, then the crossclimates are a very good option.

Good choice on the Defenders! I just ordered a set as well and will put them on next weekend when my new wheels get here.
I've tried different wheels and tires on the GX to make it look a bit more rugged but was always missing that OEM kind of ride.
