I have a 2011 GX460, and it has some issues accelerating too much when the cruise is on, especially going up hills. We’re talking like a 8mph increase over the initial set speed. Lexus finally took me serious and got me into the dealer to have it looked at, of course they found nothing. Now I need to go get video of it on the highway doing it and take it back to them. Anyone else hear of this problem before? They practically laughed at me after they looked at it and think I’m the crazy one. I don’t speed, and haven’t even been pulled over in 15 years, let alone gotten a speeding ticket, and within 2 weeks of having it, I’m told I was going 10 over up a hill on the highway.
Yes, cruise control is disappointing. Way too much speed fluctuation. Very frustrating when cruise just cancels when going down a steep decline. I came from german brands that are rock solid and keep a relative steady speed when set, even on hills. But with that said, I am glad to be in my GX 460.
This kind of behavior happens with radar cruise on my 2011 as well. If someone is in your way and then moves - prepare for lift off the throttle engages as 110%! Annoying. I would be fine it it took its time getting back up to speed. It’s like a horse that gets close to a barn.
