Looks like there are more ones in China are making those lights now with various control unit. Looking at the video above, some even added side marker now. The interesting part is they added Lexus logo but altered the letter “E” to avoid copyright A typical way in Chinese knock off product market. It also seems many of those are not made equal, had missing proper components to communicate with headlights control ECU and resulting error massage. It is important to see what type of error codes has been generated. Simply bypass those error is not ideal, if it could lead to liability issue if involved in accident.
There's definitely a couple of different versions of these lights. Hzhao's lights come with one Y split plug for the turn signals while mine and Xtian's lights come with a complete harness with several plugs. One of these plugs (switchback lights) provides the ability to have the turn signals on the headlamp assembly while keeping your original bumper turn signals (Plug on the left). Not sure if that's an attractive look but the plug is there. Take a look at the picture below and see if you can take a crack at it. We've attempted to install the black and gray OEM plug to the headlamps (plug and play) but it creates an error message. So we decided to give this extra set of harnesses that came with the box, a try.

looks like that you are missing the part that goes into OEM black harnesses connect, where the control for auto leveling and CAN communication for ECU. The initial lights up and down movement is not driving by ECU, rather it is the initialization from the leveling motor on the lights, which supposed to signal the ECU when the system is ready. In your case, that information has never been passed to ECU, that is why error occurred. I have no idea what are the other plugs and wires there for, but definitely not for the OEM black plug. If you look my lights set, the connectors on the lights are exactly the same as from OEM lights, one black and one gray, which directly plug into OEM harnesses as OEM headlights. The only thing different from the OEM lights that is an additional piggyback single wire connector from the headlight harness to connector switchback y split cable for turn signal as in your picture (far left on your pic).
My lights also look the same in the back with the black and gray plug. I'm going to do some additional testing of these extra wires and find out if some resistance is needed. Returning or getting a refund from China is deemed useless.
Someone posted to go to a alibaba supplier and use the code 'LIKEMIKE' to get the 2020 GX headlamps for $800. Is that the correct headlamp, or is that the one that brings up 'error messages' on the dash? Can I get a PM with the CORRECT headlamps? Thank you!
Your best bet is to ask Hzhao. I would get the ones that come with the black insulated Y-harness. According to other members, that one seems to be the one that has the resistor board already built into the headlamps. The ones that give off error messages are the ones that come with a large bundle of wire harnesses. When you reach out to the supplier, ask to see the "product" and wires that come with the shipment.
For items like that, I often ask supplier to send me detail pictures and video clips to verify description and functions. Build quality and packing will be another indicator for future trouble free assurance. Last but not least, compare price. In every after market products, I never shopping for the least expensive ones. If a manufacturer is to compete price on the market, there will conners have to cut! So the ultimate price to pay would be you — the consumer.

The headlights I got from a supplier (Danyang Kailite Auto Parts) on Alibaba does not have error messages. Message a representative name Chenglong Hu.
