Door opener sync problems
I just picked up a 2010 base, I can't get the garage door opener to sync with the vehicle. I've tried the suggestions on the other threads, nothing is working. Any suggestions?
thanks, jaaydee |
Is your garage door opener fairly new? You might need to buy a repeater if you’re opener is newer. It helps old homelink devices “talk” with the opener.
If it’s an older unit, usually the learn button needs to be pressed on the opener before you can do the homelink programming |

thanks, jaaydee To clear the previous programming, by holding the two outer buttons at same time for 10+ seconds, you should see the indicator from solid lit to flashing. Then you can go ahead to program each individual buttons to your opener as instructed. |
Than2for the replies . I did press the outer buttons, that didn't help. The door opener is from 1997, I ordered extra remotes a couple of years ago and didn't have any problems programming them. I tries using a remote and the button on the opener.

On Youtube, there are several videos about Lexus and Homelink programming. I suggest you look at a couple of them. If you have your owners manual, that's also a step by step instruction of how to do it. Or look up your manual online.
You use the remote control that came with garage opener to initialize your car's button. That preps your car. Then you press the button located on the back side of the opener motor boxing the car's button to finalize the car's programming. It's a 2 step process. Chances are that you have a rolling code system on the door opener and must follow the separate/specific instructions for the rolling code type. |
OK, I was on my tablet at work, I couldn't reply to easily.
I have tried all the suggestions you folks have given. I appreciate it. I did try the remote from another car, holding it close to the buttons, that didn't do it. I tried pushing the button on the opener, that didn't do it. The door opener is from 1997, I had no problem linking ebay remotes in the last couple of years. I downloaded the Lexus App, it wouldn't register the vehicle. It had me call Lexus, they tell me the vehicle is still registered in their system to the previous owner and that may be causing a problem. I have to fax a proof of purchase to Lexus to get my name in their system. I will do that and try again. I'll let you know how it goes, jaaydee |

If I understand you correctly, you just can not program any of the three buttons, meaning by holding the button and your remote controller at same time, the indicator on HomeLink does not change from slow blink to rapid blink, correct? If all three buttons not register the code, then you may have a malfunctioning HomeLink.

Do you know how many existing remotes are currently programmed?
I thought on some older units there is a limit of like 4 or 5 but I could be wrong. My old '97 Craftsman screw drive (pretty sure made by Stanley but could be wrong) I bought new is still working great... of course now it will fail that I called it out. |
There are 3 currently on it. How can I tell if the HomeLink unit is bad? I can hold the 1 & 3 buttons for a while, it goes from slow blink to fast. I have tried programming with a remote and with the button the opener, no luck.

What brand and model number is garage opener? I'll see if I can find anything. Homelink sounds like it has power.. I'm not sure there is an easy way to confirm it works or not other than replacement with a known good unit or trying to pair with another garage door opener.

Lift Master Garage Door Opener #41AA4252-7D, ˝ HP 6/97
I have been on the Homelink page, they give the same instructions. I've had my wife watch the light on the opener when I'm in the GX, it stays solid green. The blinking light on the upper console just blinks slow. jaaydee |
I will see what I can find out.
As a note.. the Homelink setup in your 460 was used in 2010-2011 before they moved it to the rear view mirror. |
I wonder if that is a SN? Not really getting any hits on variants of this string "41AA4252-7D"
Liftmaster wizard only shows these but probably older models have been trimmed from list https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.clu...3d3c80c122.png |

This is my opener. I didn't find it on the Homelink list, I used the :other" button. |
