Do you have to remove the bumper to replace the grill? Does anyone know?

Subscribed. That looks like a really nice grill.

I haven't done it but I would bet money on it. Im assuming the design is the same across the entire Lexus lineup. I took out the chrome "hourglass" piece for my '14 IS and its a series of screws and tabs that you have to pop out and the chrome "hourglass" holds the grill in place.

I got the grill from UAE.. it was broken. Wouldn’t suggest anyone to get it until I get this resolved and the packaging fixed by the vendor. I’ll keep you guys posted on the outcome.

The grill looks awesome!
But with all due respect, that thing hanging off the front end is often called a "damage multiplier" because if you so much as bump anyone/thing it will get pushed back into your grill, hood, lights, lower valance, etc. Where if you were to just lightly bump something, you may just crack your grill and not everything around it. I've installed full metal bumpers on both front and rear, but then, my rig is built for overland/expo.
Just my 2 cents.
Still... NICE grill!

I like the grill, looks like they have the sports edition bumper spoiler kit too. Interested in getting this. Hopefully JDMUSCLE was able to resolve the damage issue.

+1 a bit too much and asking for damage if bumped. Grille is nice looking.

I read the title of the thread and thought that you figured a way to replace/convert the "Spindle" grille.
For the life of me, I don't know why Lexus decided to install it on the GX? It looks O.K. on the sedans, but does not suit the GX at all!
I'd love to have the grille and front end of the Prado. Looks really good and rugged to match the vehicle style.
Oh, well, I'll keep looking...

I agree with you. But they grill in this thread does have one possibility that would actually improve the look of the front for those of us who don't like the design. Paint it body color! If you have a black GS it already is body color. It would blend in to the lines a lot more.

It would have been nice if Lexus had the GX's as two base options:
1) a street model for the soccer moms, guys who like to lower them and add aero kits, etc. Then include all the street needed electronics like parking sensors, lane assist, and so on. That grill would be GREAT!
2) a true off-road version with an appropriate high clearance grill to add a winch, all the off road engine/transmission/transfer case control doohickeys.
Heck, maybe a Rapture/ZR2/TRD-Off Road type version!!

100% agree.
They should make two versions, maybe even 3:

Premium, Ultra Premium and TRD or (Trail Teams, like the FJ Cruiser)
For the TRD/offroad version they lose the side steps, the "Corporate" grille, increase the ground clearance by removing the "ground effect kit" and add some fender flares to accommodate wider tires.

Lexus, are you listening???
