OEM: #Rear Seat #Entertainment System- ( #RSES ) Questions & Discussion
i think GROM sells some stuff that can do this.
you can also tie into the line, maybe use a powered splitter if theres impedence issues. you will need to be comfortable ripping into cabling and reading wiring diagrams
nav/dvd override is possible with a few different methods. theres a thread somehwere on that.

yes theres a download somewhere, not sure where exactly, that has it
no theres not an external input lead (that i can remember) you will have to get creative in interfacing to the wiring
if the impedences are close enough and high enough on the inputs, a simple splice might work.
something like this might be better for you, it has hdmi in, av in, also outputs, along with a bunch of other stuff:
MicroSD, HDMI/AV1/AV2 in for video and backup camera
Up to 3840x2160 display output for HUD or rear seat displays

Just acquired an '11 Premium with RSES... no remote provided nor headphones... I am not so much worried about the headphones, as I can (I assume) make the audio play through the regular audio system, right?
But the remote? Each unit is set on AM radio and I don't think there is a way to change it without the remote... is there a universal remote I could use/program to use? The replacement remote is pretty expensive...
Any guidance would be appreciated... searching for "remote" here most only turns up threads on remote start or key fob remotes...
Thanks!

Here you go.
I assume the GX is the same.

yeah-- I have seen those, much cheaper than the ones prior--I think that remote you linked is for 14 and up. Thanks!!
I found a lady in Utah that had 2 for $100 on OfferUp, but she hasn't responded to my emails...

I can’t seem to figure out, how to use different sources on the rear entertainment system.
no matter what I source I choose on one, it also changes it on the other.
I’ve tried to look this up in the manual and other searches but can’t find the answer to this.

The instructions for the rear entertainment is in the Navigation Manual
