I am probably one of the few people here that actually owned a Prado, I loved it so much I just purchased a GX460.
As a practical go anywhere vehicle the Prado blows the GX460 away especially with the 6 cylinder, but for comfort and amenities the GX460 aces the Prado. And before you all start screaming the GX is just as capable, you are right but its just so pretty and shiny and I'm dreading the first scratch. The Prado went up Volcanos to 16,000'+...No BS. (I lived in Ecuador)
totally agree. i had a '90s 4 runner, was more capable than the GX due to the diff locker setup of certain years, but the real capability was my willingness to take it places and use it in ways i wouldnt in the GX. this is changing now with the GX as it gets older, more miles, more damage, etc.
was no comparison between the 4runner and the gx for comforts
i like the old style with the plastic around the wheels etc. the gx470s had it, the motero/pajero also
We just bougth the same model, our is an 14 with 40K mileage, L certified. It was in really nice shape, looked new. I almost went for a new one, but it was 13K more with the generous dealer discount, I just didn't want to go that high.
