Thanks to the installation pdf that Acrad posted earlier, I just installed color matched door guards that I ordered from:

I printed out the template at 122% to correct size, used an appropriate small rubber mallet and watched a Toyota install video. The entire installation process took about 15 minutes with no issues. I would not recommend trying to wing the installation.

They are a little pricey for what they are but I am very happy with them and they are nothing like aftermarket edge guards you could buy for a fraction of the price.

Sure do. The vehicle in the vid is not a GX but it’s all the same.

 

I've been having trouble finding the edge guards in my paint colour. Seems that MENA-spec gets some paint options that the rest of the world doesn't. Mine's painted Starlight Black Glass Flake, and I think the only vehicles that get that are the IS, RX and LX in the other markets.

 

Interesting you bring that up... I was looking at this video from Vietnam the other day and they show that color in lineup at the end

I'm not seeing that color listed anywhere either for these guards

based on the photos from others, i think i may have installed the fronts a bit too high

 

These edge guards are worth every penny ... incredibly stiff as if made of iron, so can take a huge whack ... distributing the impact energy so the door edge does not experience localized bending.

 

Just an old version of accessory catalog I found.

 

Installed these about a year ago. Process was a little tedious but they are definitely worth it.

 

Just an fyi. I have these installed on our 15 GX and noticed one of them kept popping off partially. I simply tapped it back into place with a rubber mallet and have not had an issue since.

 

I am a big fan of door edge guards. I wasn't thrilled with the look of the thick ones, so I had the guy who did my 3M paint protection add that 3M film to the door edges. Crystal clear and low-profile. Has definitely saved me when parking in tight parking structures.

 

I just received these door guards but no templates were included, luckily I found them on line. i had to adjust my printer to 115% which came out perfect.
