A quick update on my email to Lexus on this subject. One day after my email, I got a call from Lexus Corp and my case was assigned to a case manager who will be looking into my concern and contact dealer for detail about the repair, and promised will get back to me within 48 hours for the result. Today, the case manager called me, and told me based on my GX service records, the age of the car, and considered my royalty with Lexus, Lexus National Headquarter has desired to refund my repair cost in full as a curtesy as a royal customer. Needless to say that I am very happy with a bit surprised with the result. I was expecting maybe refund in partial or even just a credit towards future service or purchasing of Lexus products. Once again, Lexus proves themselves “Experiences Amazing” in every aspects whether in quality or in customer satisfaction. Just want to share this happy ending to all.

I have a newly acquired 2014 with 41k miles that just threw this code tonight. It has plenty of power under normal driving but has a pretty rough idle at times. Has anyone else dealt with this code yet? I cleared it earlier but I’m sure it will return.

That could very well be an EGR valve stuck open causing the rough engine at idle.

Do you know of any GX owners cleaning the EGR vs just replacing it?

It would be worth a shot. Service PDFs are earlier in the thread.

Hi guys,

I am new here, I was writing to see who can give me a suggestion or advice on the replacement of the two EGR valves of my 2010 Lexus GX460.

I just bought the two valves and am about to replace them.

By the way, excuse my English, I don't speak it very well!

An IH8Mud member was recently bit by coolant valley leak. After the repair they experienced some stability and rough idles after warm start. Fingers crossed but it appears it was gunked up EGR valve....

Perhaps a maintenance item?
