Front Control Arms

I don't see a thread on front control arms so will start one here. Not really anything to add. Just saw this video on Youtube today.

To determine if the control arms are worn out is it still what I remember? Tire tread wear inside and when jacked up you can move the tire/wheel left to right?

Anyone here had to replace these?
