I'll certainly post the details, I was told on Friday night about the transmission.

I would post all the receipts but they are in the car a Lexus, I'm certainly not trying to discourage anyone, I truly still do feel this is a reliable car.

The lemon law does apply to this car by the way in NJ, I talked to an attorney to get an idea of my options.

Quote: Hopefully someone can help. I have a 2010 Gx460 with on 32000 miles on it hardly driven. when it sits and then is driven. When you shift from park to drive the dash indicator doesn't light up D but it drives and the shifter is not indicating D. you have to move it back and forth to finally get it to come up. no other gears doesn't it have this problem. only after sitting for a while after that its good till it siting for my than a week.
This is exactly what is happening to my 2014 GX, it's currently in the shop pending a new transmissions.

What happens is it feels a little stiff when shifting (and no D shows up) but if I give it a little force the D will eventually show up. Sometimes the check engine light comes on but not all the time. I've had a number of issues so I'm hoping yours is minor in comparison.

I know I'm relatively new as a poster so I'm hoping a more senior person's solution is applicable to your issue.

That sounds like a flood car. Flooded cars don’t appear as a salvage either. Easy way to check is look under seats and carpet for rust. Dead giveaway. Sorry for your frustration

I actually did look under the seats, there's no rust or noticeable water damage at all. Just around a lot of the bolts (upper bolts mostly), maybe the car was disassembled and the tools left a little exposed metal that overtime revealed a bit of rust or bronze metal, nothing crazy just noticeable. I wish I had the car to take a pic!

OP: Is vehicle from your area?

Have you pulled up the service history of vehicle on Lexus owner’s site?

I did look at the history of the car. It looks like it was purchased (leased) at the same dealer I purchase it from (as new) but the owner lived in New York (it was registered in NY). All work was done a Lexus dealer, some tires were purchase from a discount tire place but that about it.

They also replaced my Takata airbag.

I'll have to wait until it rains to check the leak, but everything so far seem ok. The buttons (4 Low and the other) now lights up on the tip, it didn't do that before I don't think.

All is well for now, only time will tell. It's certainly nice having it back though.
